Pari Berk graduated from The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and earned her law degree with honors from NYU in 2000. She first learned about federal employee litigation in law school by volunteering in the Civil Division of The United States Attorney’s Office, Southern District of New York, where she assisted the U.S. Government in defending actions brought by federal employees.

After law school, Ms. Berk joined the litigation department of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton and Garrison in Manhattan. She worked primarily on federal cases and also allocated many hours to pro bono assignments. Her work for the government and in the private sector served as ideal preparation for advocating on behalf of federal employees at the Law Office of Jonathan Bell, P.C.

Ms. Berk has litigated a variety of cases before the Merit Systems Protections Board, including removals based on performance and misconduct. She has successfully defeated proposals for removal, including one where an employee did not even receive a letter of reprimand. She also handles discrimination cases before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, matters before the Office of Special Counsel, federal employee investigations, and national security clearances.

Ms. Berk is a zealous advocate and a compassionate one, who will work to find creative solutions. She is a mother of two and a published author whose personal essays have appeared in The New York Times and many national magazines.
